As Anthony stated, if a script has no dialogue, grade according to how effective you think it is without it. If no dialogue really makes the script stand out, give it a 5. If you wish there was just one line in there somewhere, give it a 4. If you feel no dialogue hurts the script, grade lower.
Good idea guys, I'll go with this approach!

Okay - done. Although there are two or three I need to go back and re-read. My initial observations:
Kudos to Rene on the requirements. Good job, mate.
I think that open genre really is a gift to the readers. That is well as the multiple options of props. It was refreshing to be able to go from story A to story B, etc and see something totally different. Reading these 33 scripts seemed like reading 10 from a regular OWC - flew by.
Kudos to the writers for having several scripts in different cultures and time periods - it was interesting to read how the writers wrote to set the tone of something other than modern day, Western civilization. Most succeeded in that regard.
As always - many nailed the requirements and several - well kind of did. errg - okay, I'll just throw in a syringe, snake of shovel here rather than it being instrumental to the story. But - I don't think there are any I am going to give a N to any submission.
I have a few favorites - interesting to see how they will do.
Normally I don’t like open genre. That’s just me. I like being required to write something of a specific genre, that way I might be forced to write in a genre I’m not comfortable with, say sci-fi. But here I didn’t mind because of the “s” requirements. It worked very well for me anyway. Not my script, but me.

Yes closed genre is a challenge for writers - I was commenting from a readers POV - nice to get varied stories
That was the hope with the parameters of the challenge, to have restrictions but also the flexibility to come up with a variety of stories. I'm glad it seems to have paid off. I'm also enjoying the reads, and the quality of the scripts.

Dave wrote all the good ones.
I jest, but I wonder how many multiple entries there were. Rene?
Really enjoying reading my way through. Starting as always with those with the lowest number of reads. I think it's a bit unfortunate that some scripts, currently, have six reviews and others have twelve. Seems like a lot of beginners' scripts to offer feedback on -- are we really all that desperate to read yet more torture porn instead?
Not a fan of the scoring system. Story, characters, dialogue etc. do not cleanly separate out as skills that writers can work on independent of one another, so I don't think it's that useful to grade along these lines.
Very glad to finally be back on one of these again. Good turnout, good scripts, good feedback -- and all starting out from a clever challenge with well-chosen parameters.
Also: man, a LOT of people went with the shovel, eh?
Ok, all done. What's left is to tally our votes. Congrats to all those who participated. Some great writing on display here. Big shout out to Don and ReneC for a great challenge. Oh, and to anyone behind the scenes.
