Nightwish, one of the best symphonic metal bands in the world, if not the best.Ghostie
Ghostie...nice! I had no idea. Good music for sure, but I just don't like the growling stuff and because of that, I don't own any Nightwish - but, yeah, they are quite good.
I really like Within Temptation. Their latest, The Unforgivng, is their best, IMO. Really good stuff and shockingly catchy...and quite a cool little concept album with great vids as well.
Also, have you heard Delain? Another Euro Symph female fronted group. Not really symph, but IMO, very, very good and underrated.
Queen + Paul Rodgers - The Cosmos Rocks Matt Mays & El Torpedo - Terminal Romance Sam Roberts - Love At The End of the World The Avett Brothers - I and Love and You Arcade Fire - The Suburbs Muse - The Resistance
Just checked what I was listening too before and what I'm listening to now. Tastes haven't changed much:
Queen - Sheer Heart Attack (2011 Remaster) Queen - The Game (2011 Remaster) Sam Roberts - Collider Foxy Shazam - The Church of Rock and Roll Young the Giant - self titled Fun. - Some Nights
Foo Fighters - Nothing Left To Lose / One By One Testament - Souls of Black / Practice What You Preach The Ramones - anything from first 4 albums Corrosion of Conformity - Wiseblood / Deliverence Chevelle - Vena Sera / Sci Fi Crimes / Hats off Machine Head - Unto The Locust / the Blackening Metallica - And Justice For All Radiohead - In Rainbows Suicidal Tendencies - Still Cyco After All These Years Mastodon - The Hunter Nirvana - In Utero / Nevermind
I'll play along. Got my tax refunds so decided to buy some CD's I've been after.
Just pulled the last 3 Queensryche efforts out of the CD changer - Take Cover, American Soldier, and Dedicated to Chaos - all not bad, but not great, either - better than the horrendous reviews they've received, though..
Also purchased all the 2010/2011 Digipack Remasters of all 11 of Savatage's studio releases. Wow, so good to remember why they're 1 of my top 5 favorites of all time, and also not so good to remember why Fight for the Rock was such a disaster and really derailed their early "success".
But now, I just loaded in the following...
1) Axel Rudi Pell - The Crest (2010) 2) Axel Rudi Pell - Circle of the Oath (2012) 3) Jack Blades - Rock 'N' Roll Ride (2012) 4) H.E.A.T. - Address the Nation (2012) 5) Unisonic - S/T (2012) - UNFUCKINGBELIEVABLE!!!!!! 6) Flying Colors - S/T (2012)
And I have this strange feeling that probably literally no one has a clue who any of these peeps are.
I usually have pretty wide range of CD's in the car to cater for my differing moods, some old, some new. Here's what I have in there at the moment:
At the Drive-In - Relationship of Command Pitchshifter - http://www.pitchshifter.com Dead Man's Bones - self titled AFI - Sing for Sorrow Hundred Reasons - Idea's above our Station Biffy Clyro - Live Wembley Album Cyclefly - Generation Sap A - A V's Monkey Kong Blink 182 - Neighborhoods Frightened Rabbit - Winter of Mixed Drinks
As you can see, a real mixed bag. The Pitchshifter Album has become a link lol
Check out my scripts...if you want to, no pressure.
you need someone to show you how to use Bit Torrents
No, I believe in buying CD's and supporting the artists that create the music on the CD's. I am completely against pirating music and continually bitch at friends who do this.
I also really like having the actual CD, especially DigiPacks and DigiBooks. I frequently spend an extra $10 or more to get the special limited edition Digi's.
The bands I listen to don't have a huge following. You don't find their music in Wallmart or wherever. They need every dime they can make and I for 1 will support them anyway I can, and right now, that comes down to plunking down $15-$30 for their releases.

where's that Like button??
I'm always amazed when writers especially freak out when someone uses their script without permission, but brag about how they can easily get music, movies, software and whatever for free.
you know you can download music and STILL buy it right?
thanks to bit torrent i have been able to listen to and discover music that normally i would never just out-right buy. i simply cant afford to do it.
ive been turned onto more artists and have a much greater musical vocabulary through bittorrents then i ever would have had - being forced to selectively buy music only from the artists that i trust are going to make quality music. who wants to take a 15$ chance on what is probably one-hit-wonder after one-hit-wonder.
sorry those days are over for me.
you want me to buy your CD? i'm going to make sure i'm getting my money's worth first.
