Here is the deal. I originally set up the sub genre of short scripts as a sub-board off short scripts. The only problem is that it effectively hid the short scripts by genre, so I deleted the sub-board and re-created the short sub genres on equal footing with the other feature genres. I thought it was important since shorts is really the bread and butter of the site and hiding them does no one any good.
You just happened to catch the board in the middle of this process, hence the duplication. Everything should be sorted, now.
Thanks for all your efforts here. I do think that having all the shorts in one place is more convenient than having to click in and out of eight different sub-forums. Older shorts, yes, could be divided according to their genre in an archive or something. But new shorts should all be in a single forum, IMO. It's what most people here read and discuss about.
From a guy interested in reading and reviewing the odd script every now and again, I find the 'everything sub-catagorized' makes the forum look too cluttered and I don't want to click in and out of each one to review scripts. So from that angle it is off-putting.
However, if I was to put my producer's hat on and I was looking specifically to make a short sci-fi script, the new format does help.
So general reviewing not so good, specific searching is good!

What about creating a "New Short Scripts" section? That way, all the new scripts could be found in one place for a couple of months and then be categorized by genre. Or they could appear both in the "New" and sub-genre sections simultaneously.
Yes, with regard to reading, having one short category makes it easier (if you will read shorts regardless of genre) to read shorts. However, from a producer/filmmaker perspective, overwhelmingly the criticism has been that everything is lumped together. So, in an attempt to make the site a little more producer friendly, I've split out the shorts and added the option to add production related comments to the posting.

Manolis,
This is a good idea, however it may prove to be a little labor intensive. I might use the generic shorts category for this and then move the scripts to the respective short genre after a week or so.
No promises on this, tho. I'd like to see how these short sub cats works for a bit.
*Edit: The short answer is that I'm not blowing off the suggestions made here, it is just that these changes were made as a result of a number of suggestions over the past year to make the postings more 'producer friendly'.
I was gonna suggest something along the lines of a new shorts section but I suspected it'd be way too time-consuming for you to keep track of when and which particular scripts need to be shifted out.
Two other ideas:
1) Just post each short twice. Once in the general shorts category and again in the specific genre category. The readers/commenters can stick to the one big folder and producers can still find scripts based on genre (although there won't be any comments for them to look at).
2) Add a third "portal" button - this one will only show a list of your recent threads (as in only threads Don has created). If possible, narrow it down to only short script threads you've created. That should let people go on and find all the recent shorts you've posted in one place.
I'm wondering why after implementing sub genre short threads there is still a general short thread? This thread surely should be fazed out as people will still use it and therefore make the new threads almost pointless, doesn't it?
Check out my scripts...if you want to, no pressure.

Alffy,
It will be some time before the general short thread goes away. There are a lot of scripts there to move. All new shorts submitted since implementation and on request scripts are posted/moved to the new threads.
