I'm trying to put together a creative team to bring an exciting new series to life, and I’d love for you to consider joining us. Our goal is to develop a fresh, engaging TV show filled with humor, heart, and a real look at the complexities of modern relationships and friendships. To kick this off, we’re creating five initial episodes to pitch to FX, and we want voices like yours to help shape this unique project.
About the Series The series dives into the messy, funny, and meaningful sides of relationships. Imagine three friends navigating the ups and downs of life, love, and friendship—filled with relatable struggles and the occasional witty, unfiltered take on society. Our show captures both the humor and heart of modern connections, keeping the characters genuine and their journeys relatable. Think of it as a blend of Fleabag meets Insecure in tone.
Why Join Us?
Here’s what you can expect:
• A Collaborative, Creative Team: We’re a dynamic group unafraid to push boundaries and eager for team members passionate about storytelling.
• Writing Challenges: Dive into everything from character development to tackling social themes, adding a touch of satire on politics or pop culture.
• Room for Your Voice: We’re excited to bring new perspectives and ideas into the mix and would love to hear your creative input on how we can make these characters and their world stand out.
• A Streamlined Process: Each episode will be structured around a tight 10-page script, focusing on one main theme, character goals, consequences, and resolutions. This approach keeps things efficient, effective, and affordable.
The Process We’ll kick things off on Zoom with our initial planning, followed by collaborative outlining and scripting sessions. Each episode will be 10-pages, this draft will give us a powerful pitch piece that brings the characters and storylines to life. Plus, we’re looking at the possibility of compensation upon a successful pitch sale.
If you’re ready to join us on this journey and bring something fresh to the table, let’s talk! This is a chance to make your mark on a series with real potential, and we’re excited to see what you bring to the mix.
We’re keeping the writing team small for the first five episodes, with no more than three writers, so everyone’s voice can shape the core of the series. For any additional writers, I’d like to help develop by being involved in the writing for a producer credit.
We’ll have another producer joining to help us prepare for the pitch, and once the episodes are polished, we plan to complete a rough cut to enhance the pitch with our DP.
In terms of experience, we each have showreels. I’ve worked on a range of short films, commercials, and experimental projects; Pamela has an industry background as a producer and has her own reel; and our DP is a close collaborator, primarily focused on commercial work. I’d be glad to share samples of everyone’s work once the team is in place.
Please feel free to PM if you're interested in any other details.
